Attractions & Events:
• Cedar Hill State Park has beautiful rolling hills and overlooks Joe Pool Lake. It is a great place for hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, camping, fishing, and boating.
• Joe Pool Lake opened in 1989 and spans across 7200 acres. It is a great fishing destination with largemouth bass, channel catfish, white crappie and white bass. Camping is available at the Cedar Hill State Park and other parks around the lake.
• Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center is located on 205 acres of Dogwood Canyon which has a wide variety of rare plants and animals among beautiful flowering dogwoods on limestone slopes. There is a mix of species from both East and West Texas. The center has classrooms and more.
• City Sponsored Events include Star watching parties, dances, arts festivals, concerts, marathons and more.
